Congratulations to the Graduates of 2025 Training Academy

Congratulations to Orland Fire District's 5 newest Firefighter/ Paramedics who were sworn in at a ceremony held at the Orland Fire District on Wednesday, March 4th. In March, 2025 they started the intense 10-week Fire/EMS Academy to provide them with the skills necessary to be successful with the Orland Fire District, and were then released as Probationary Firefighters, functioning under the direction of a company officer as they worked to complete their 1-year probationary period.
Deputy Fire Chief John Purtill welcomed their families and spoke to the long and successful careers they could have with the Orland Fire District by continuing to learn and advance. Training Officer Lieutenant Bob Griffin III spoke of the hard work they all put in to be successful and get to the point they are at, and thanked their families for their support while they went through this process. Their loved ones joined them as Fire Commissioner Jaber administered their Oaths of Office and their loved ones pinned on their new badges.
