| Trustees Corcoran, McGill and Maher answered
present. Trustees Cacciato and Katsenes were absent. Others present: Chief Donald Bettenhausen, Deputy Chief Arthur Granat, Finance Director Kerry Sullivan, Battalion Chief Bryant Krizik, Attorneys Karl Ottosen and Don Potts and Recording Secretary Mary Beth Bowdish. |

| To allow the Trustees an opportunity to review the complete contract, this item will be placed on the agenda for the next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees. | LABOR AGREEMENT WITH IBEW LOCAL 134, TELECOMMUNICATORS |
| Having previously been advised in detail of the
changes in the contract, Trustee McGill moved and Trustee Corcoran seconded
to approve the Labor Agreement with Orland Professional Firefighters Local
2754, as presented. Motion carried on roll call vote: AYES: (3) Corcoran, McGill, Maher NAYES: (0) ABSENT: (2) Cacciato, Katsenes Possible changes in the promotions section of the contract were briefly discussed and may become a ‘Letter of Understanding’ at a future date. |
LABOR AGREEMENT WITH ORLAND PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 2754 |
| In order to get the next ten firefighter
candidates through the Fire Academy before the heat of August, Conditional
Offer of Employment letters need to be sent. Chief Bettenhausen requested
approval from the Board of Trustees to begin the hiring process. Trustee Corcoran moved and Trustee McGill seconded to direct the Board of Fire Commissioners to move forward with the hiring of ten new firefighters. HIRING 10 CANDIDATE FIREFIGHTERS |
| Having previously discussed an Amendment to the Fire Chief’s Contract wherein the Chief’s holidays, personal days, birthday leave and educational reimbursement would be the same as the non-sworn employees of the District, Trustee Corcoran moved and Trustee McGill seconded to approve Resolution 2006-07, A Resolution Authorizing the Amendment of the Employment Contract for the Position of Chief/Administrator of the Orland Fire Protection District, as presented. | As the meeting was progressing quickly, the
Trustees requested the Chief to review the changes in the Labor Agreement
with IBEW Local 134, Telecommunicators. After having done so, President
Maher asked if the Board felt comfortable with approving the agreement at
this time. Trustee Corcoran moved and Trustee McGill seconded to approve the Labor Agreement with IBEW Local 134, Telecommunicators, as presented. Motion carried on roll call vote: AYES: (3) Corcoran, McGill, Maher NAYES: (0) ABSENT: (2) Cacciato, Katsenes |
