Board of Trustees President HickeyI am pleased to welcome you to the Orland Fire Protection District; where we strive to take the most professional approach to the public safety needs of the communities we serve.

The District has a proud history of serving our communities as innovation leaders in public safety. We are fortunate to have some of the most talented and dedicated individuals working in the fire service today. The men and women of the Orland Fire Protection District, through tradition, are here to provide the highest level of service possible. Our command staff, frontline firefighters, communication center dispatchers, fire prevention / public education personnel, buildings / grounds / maintenance, and civilian staff are committed through mission and integrity: “The Orland Fire Protection District is dedicated to preserving life and property while valuing full accountability to each other and the people we serve.” The members of our dedicated district embrace these words on a daily basis as they continue to make a positive impact in our communities.

As an ISO class two Fire Protection District, we are proud to serve nearly 80,000 residents across 33 square miles in the communities of Orland Park, Orland Hills, and unincorporated Orland Township. We provide emergency services out of 6 firehouses where daily staff and operations consist of (1) Battalion Chief, (36) Lieutenants / Engineers / Firefighters / Paramedics, (1) tower ladder, (1) ladder truck, (4) engines, and (6) ambulances. Our professionals serve as specialists in the areas of Structural Fire Fighting, Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic, Urban Search and Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Dive Rescue, Fire Investigations, Wild Land Firefighting, Command and Control Strategic Planning.

As the Orland Fire Protection District prepares for the challenges of the future, we will continually seek ways to evaluate how we provide our services in an effort to be more efficient, adaptable, and responsive to the public safety needs of our residents and the visitors to the communities we serve.
