In the 1960's when the Orland Fire Protection
District was formed, it included a three (3) member appointed Board of Trustees. All
members held various offices, such as President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
In 1991 the Board of Trustees elected to
expand the Board members to five (5), and since that time, members must stand for
election. Officers of the Board rotate when elections are held. Each member has one vote
and no other authority except when the Board meets publicly.
The Board is responsible for the budget and
the policy of the District. Meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the fourth Wednesday of each
month in the Administrative Center located at: 9788 W. 151st Street. The public is always
encouraged to attend.
It's not all business for the Board as they
are very active in Fire District functions including attending Open House, Promotional
Ceremonies, and other activities involving the community. |
