CPR Class Calendar

The Orland Fire District has
been offering CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) classes to the
public for over 15 years. We train
approximately 300 citizens each year. Citizens that are trained in CPR make a difference
every day by the recognition of life threatening conditions, prompt calling of 911, and
administering life-saving techniques. This training has helped keep many patients alive
until the ambulance arrives on the scene.
The Heart Saver Course taught by OFPD follows the guidelines for CPR and foreign body
airway obstruction maneuvers outlined by the American Heart Association. The course
consists of a lecture and a practical. The lecture will include background information
about heart disease, risk factors, prudent heart living, and heart and
lung anatomy.
One-rescuer CPR and foreign body airway obstruction maneuvers will be demonstrated in the
practical portion of the class. Both, lecture and practical will cover adults and
pediatrics.
The Orland Fire Protection District offers CPR monthly. All
Classes are held at Orland Fire Station 3, located at 15101 S. Wolf
Rd. Classes run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You MUST
REGISTER for the class ahead of time. All students will get a
CPR manual to keep. Class cost is $45 and must be paid prior to
class date.
